Medalha Ferruzzi «Madona das Ruas» em ouro amarelo

MADONNA OF THE STREETS FERRUZZI MEDAL IN YELLOW GOLD
The Madonna of the Streets Ferruzzi is one of the most recognizable Marian images for its ability to convey calm, protection, and closeness. Unlike many traditional depictions, it does not rely on solemn symbolism, but on immediacy: a quiet gaze, a simple gesture, a presence that accompanies without distance.

Crafted in yellow gold by Italian goldsmiths, this medal combines the material value of fine jewelry with the emotional strength of an image that speaks directly to the heart, becoming a discreet yet meaningful sign of faith.

ORIGIN OF THE IMAGE
This image originates from a late 19th-century painting by Italian artist Roberto Ferruzzi. Originally titled Maternity, the work was not intended as a religious subject, but portrayed a young mother with her child.

Over time, popular devotion recognized in this scene a genuine image of the Virgin Mary with the Child Jesus, transforming it into one of the most beloved Marian representations. Its strength lies precisely in this spontaneous origin, making it deeply relatable and emotionally powerful.

MEANING AND ICONOGRAPHY
What makes this image unique is its simplicity. The Virgin is not depicted as a queen or surrounded by symbolic elements, but as a young mother holding her child in a natural and protective gesture.

In the medal, this relationship is rendered through a soft relief enclosed in a circular shape, focusing attention on the bond between Mother and Child. It is an image that does not impose itself but invites contemplation, emphasizing closeness rather than distance.

WHY IT IS WORN
Wearing this medal means choosing a devotion centered on tenderness, protection, and everyday presence. It is especially meaningful for those who seek in the Virgin Mary a maternal figure who is close, understanding, and quietly supportive.

Rather than expressing a strong or dramatic protection, it represents a gentle and constant presence, making it a deeply personal symbol of faith.

HOW TO USE THE MEDAL
The medal can be worn daily as a personal sign of faith or kept in a meaningful place, such as a prayer corner or near the bed. In Christian tradition, it is often blessed and becomes a tangible reminder of the Virgin Mary’s presence in everyday life.

It is not a “magical” object, but a sign that invites prayer, trust, and a deeper relationship with faith.

WHEN TO GIVE IT
This medal is a delicate and meaningful gift. It is suitable for important moments such as Baptism, First Communion, and Confirmation, but also for more personal occasions.

It is especially appropriate when offering comfort, encouragement, or closeness, thanks to the tenderness of the image it represents.
